Hosted every spring, the Columbia Missourian Regional Spelling Bee brings students from across Mid-Missouri to the University of Missouri campus to compete for a spot at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

The School of Journalism Event Planning and Promotion class helps organize the bee every year. As a member of the communications team in Spring 2023, I ran the event’s Facebook page, designing various graphics and interacting with other users. I also helped facilitate communication between participating schools and the parents of the spellers, keeping them updated and passing along important information.
